Recruitment of 16-year-old girl who participated in Embassy takeover
16 year-old girl recruited by MRTA participated in the 1997 takeover of the Japanese Embassy.
On October 17, 1995, MRTA members recruited a 16-year-old girl. They came, called her and went outside to talk, stayed until almost midnight and then did not return. Her mother did not hear from her until she found out that she participated in the seizure of the Japanese Embassy on April 22, 1997. This case is evidence of the recruitment of children from the central jungle who were indoctrinated for several years by the MRTA.
