EP military intervention in Tumán sugar cooperative

Army intercepts sugar cooperative in Tumán for alleged subversive infiltration

A patrol of the Peruvian Army intervenes in the agricultural sugar production cooperative of Tumán, without it being clear if there was any infiltration by the PCP-SL. Subsequently, the Pomalca sugar mill was also taken over by a contingent of the EP, claiming 'security reasons'. These military interventions in civilian installations generated controversy about their justification.
