Drug trafficker Abelardo Cachique Rivera is arrested in Colombia. Later, in August, the military justice system sentenced him to life imprisonment. His case would later involve accusations against ten officers of the Peruvian Army, among them two generals, for allegedly supporting his drug trafficking activities.
