Armed confrontation between the PCP-SL and the army in the province of Daniel Alcides Carrion that resulted in the death of a soldier on May 10, 1995.

On May 10, 1995, an armed confrontation took place between PCP-Sendero Luminoso militants and Peruvian army troops in the province of Daniel Alcides Carrion, department of Pasco. The confrontation resulted in the death of one soldier. This event occurred in the context of counter-subversive operations that had been taking place in the region since the mid-1980s. By 1995, violence in the area had diminished considerably following the capture of Abimael Guzmán in 1992 and the general withdrawal of subversive forces.
