Fourth stage of military counter-subversive battle in Alto Huallaga

Fourth and last stage of the counter-subversive military battle in Alto Huallaga during 1995, consisting of complementary actions after the dismantling of the main PCP-SL forces in the region. This phase consolidated the State's military control in the area after years of Shining Path domination.

The fourth stage of the counter-subversive military battle in Alto Huallaga took place in 1995 as the final phase of the operations against the Shining Path in the region. This stage was characterized by complementary actions following the three previous stages: the first during the 1990 general elections, the second focused on recovering areas liberated by the PCP-SL (August 1990-July 1992), and the third centered on clearing operations (August 1992-1994). By 1995, the armed forces had taken control of the area since 1994, following the successful Operation Aries, which dismantled the main Shining Path strongholds in the Cuchara and Primavera pockets.
