The Shining Path PCP killed around seventy natives of the Quenteroni community between June and July 1994, including children, the sick and elderly considered not useful for work or war.
Between June and July 1994, the Shining Path PCP killed around seventy natives of the Quenteroni community. The victims were people the subversives considered useless for work or for the war, including children, the sick and the elderly. This act of extreme violence occurred in the context of the war in the central jungle, where the PCP-SL held native populations captive. The mass murder exemplifies the acts of horror committed against native communities that had been turned into a captive mass by the subversives.
