Motion of condemnation against CNDDHH passed

The Democratic Constituent Congress approved a motion condemning the CNDDHH for disseminating allegations of human rights violations committed by the armed forces during Operation Aries in Huallaga. The fujimorista majority considered that these allegations were not in line with reality and damaged Peru's image.

The pro-Fujimori congressman Oswaldo Sandoval presented a motion of condemnation against the National Human Rights Coordinator (CNDDHH) for having disseminated, according to him, "without objective and real evidence", the accusations against the armed forces during Operation Aries. The motion was approved by the government majority of the Democratic Constituent Congress (CCD). The CCD agreed to condemn the irresponsible way in which the CNDDHH had spread negative versions about the actions of the Armed Forces in the Huallaga area, versions that according to the Congress were not in line with reality but that had damaged Peru's image and prestige. This motion came after the CNDDHH denounced human rights violations during Operation Aries in the Upper Huallaga.
