On April 12, 1994, the PCP-SL again raided the town of Andajes, located in the province of Huaura. During this raid, the Shining Pathists executed six people. This attack represents the second violent incursion by the PCP-SL in Andajes, as four years earlier, in 1990, they had attacked the town, selectively assassinating five local authorities. The aggressiveness of the Shining Path against Andajes exemplifies their strategy of violence against villages that rejected their political-military proposal.
