Capture of trekking commands Traveler, Lightning and Fisherman

Capture of three Shining Path commanders (Viajero, Rayo and Pescador) in January 1994 in the Huallaga Front after intelligence operations. Their testimonies were fundamental for planning the military offensive against Shining Path in the area.

In January 1994, following intelligence operations, the armed forces captured three important Shining Path commanders known as Viajero, Rayo and Pescador in the Huallaga Front. According to the Military Chief of the Huallaga Front, the testimonies provided by these captured commanders were extremely important for the planning and execution of the total offensive against subversion in the region. This intelligence information was crucial for the subsequent launching of Operation Aries in April 1994. The captures represented a significant blow to the command structure of the PCP-Sendero Luminoso that had been threatening the population of Alto Huallaga.
