Lota Massacre by the PCP-SL
200 hikers massacred 24 people in Lota with machetes, including forced parricide
More than 200 hikers took over the villages of Bella, Inti, Rondos, Agua Blanca and Palo Acero. For hours they gathered the villagers in their respective places, located the alleged informers, assailants and traffickers who were cheating the small drug producers, gathering 24 people in the Lota hamlet, where they killed them with machetes, axes and knives. The PCP-SL even forced one of its militants, an 18-year-old youth, to murder his own father as proof of submission and loyalty to the Party.
