Seizure of villages in the Monsoon Valley

More than 200 PCP-SL subversives took over several villages in the Monzon valley in September 1993, publicly assassinating some 24 people identified as informers, criminals and coca intermediaries.

In September 1993, more than 200 subversives of the Shining Path PCP took over several villages in the Monzon valley. During this action, the subversives located suspected informers, criminals and coca intermediaries, approximately 24 people in total. These people were killed in a bloody public act. This event was part of the continuation of violence in the Huallaga region after the capture of Abimael Guzman in 1992.
