Police capture Military Commander of PCP-SL Southern Zone and others responsible for Tumba Ortega's murder
On August 21, 1993, police captured several alleged subversives of the PCP-SL: Iris Quiñonez Colchado alias 'Bertha' (Zonal Sur Military Command), Aldrin Meliton Cardenas alias 'Jacinto', Sonia Huerta Alcala alias 'Elsa', German Mosquera Auccacusi alias 'Fernando', Emilio Robles Alcedo, Pedro Armas Valdivia alias 'Spencer', and Juan Gutierrez Perez alias 'Enrique' (one of the direct attackers). Juan Gutiérrez confessed to having shot together with 'Jeremías' against Colonel Tumba Ortega. They were transferred to the Special Military Court of the Peruvian Army.
