IACHR Report on Enforced Disappearances in Peru
IACHR reported 375 enforced disappearances in Peru, 184 between January-July 1991
On March 12, 1993, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights issued a Special Report on the Situation of Human Rights in Peru. The report noted that especially during the first year of the government of former President Alberto Fujimori, 375 forced disappearances of persons had been reported, of which 236 remained unresolved. Of these, 184 had occurred in the period from January 1 to July 28, 1991, coinciding with the beginning of operations of the Colina detachment.
