Murder of Pedro Huilca Tecse

Pedro Huilca Tecse, General Secretary of the CGTP, was assassinated on December 18, 1992 in Lima. The crime was initially attributed to the PCP-SL.

Pedro Huilca Tecse, General Secretary of the CGTP (General Confederation of Peruvian Workers), was assassinated on December 18, 1992 in Lima. It was initially assumed that the PCP-SL (Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path) was responsible. This assassination was part of a series of attacks against union leaders during the period of the internal armed conflict. The case of Huilca Tecse represents one of the most emblematic crimes against Peruvian union leaders during the 1990s.
