Promulgation of Decree Law 25708 - Proceedings for treason
Regulation of summary proceedings for the trial of treason in military courts.
Decree Law 25708 of December 10, 1992 regulated the procedures in trials for treason crimes. It established that the summary procedure of the Code of Military Justice would be applied for trials in theaters of operations, granting the military judge a maximum period of ten calendar days to develop the investigations and issue a sentence. This summary procedure violated basic due process guarantees.
