Foundation of the parish of San Andrés in Huaycán
Foundation of the San Andrés parish in Huaycán to attend to the aftermath of violence
The San Andrés parish was founded in Huaycán, a name suggested by Father Tadeo Passini and accepted by Cardinal Augusto Vargas Alzamora, then Archbishop of Lima. On this basis, the parish complex was built, which included a series of services, a library and a radio station. That same year, concerned about the aftermath of the internal armed conflict, the parish decided to carry out a five-year plan to form basic ecclesial communities.
