Student Nancy Pimentel detained and tortured with electric shocks at DINCOTE, detention not registered
Nancy Pimentel Cuellar, a student at the Enrique Guzmán y Valle University of Education, was arrested at her home in the early hours of October 10, 1992 by members of the Armed Forces, who beat her before taking her to DINCOTE. She was taken to the third floor of the DINCOTE building by members of the police and forced to sit blindfolded on a chair for hours. The next day she was subjected to electric shocks to both her fingers and her head until she fainted. She was subsequently forced to sign a statement declaring that she had not been a victim of torture. On November 2, she was taken blindfolded from DINCOTE to the Lima district of Miraflores. Her detention was not recorded.
