Forced recruitment of 24 school children by Sendero Luminoso in Satipo with lethal punishment.
Shining Path forcibly recruited 24 students between 10 and 12 years of age. The children were subjected to strict rules: they could only eat when ordered to do so by the Shining Path members, otherwise they were killed for breaking the rules. Methods of execution included tying hands, hanging and stabbing 4 to 5 times the body with knives. This testimony evidences the totalitarian control and extreme violence exercised over recruited children.
