MRTA attacks Jaén and police posts, leaving eight dead
Dozens of MRTA members raid the city of Jaen, then attack the police posts of Chamaya, Cruce and Bellavista and make the police flee. The subversives manage to steal weapons and radio equipment. The attack left eight dead: five civilians, an Army captain and two PNP non-commissioned officers.
