Massacre in Huamanquiquia by PCP-SL

PCP-SL massacres villagers in Huamanquiquia who recognized its members

Members of the PCP-SL enter the district of Huamanquiquia in Huamanga disguised as military personnel. They gather the population and ask them to recognize two members of the PCP-SL. Those who do so are rounded up, beaten with sticks and stones, and have their throats slit with knives and axes. This massacre exemplifies the methods of collective punishment used by the Shining Path.
