In July 1992, the paramilitary group Colina carried out an operation at the Enrique Guzmán y Valle National University, known as 'La Cantuta'. This operation involved the extrajudicial execution of nine students and a university professor. The events took place in a context of extreme violence and after the self-coup d'état of April 5, 1992. This case exemplifies the actions of paramilitary groups during the period of political violence in Peru.
