Attacks on police posts in San José de Sisa and Bellavista
In May 1992, the MRTA attacked the police posts of San Jose de Sisa and Bellavista in San Martin, as part of a series of military actions that also included attacks on Tarapoto, Picota, Tabalosos and San Miguel del Rio Mayo.
Between April and May 1992, the MRTA carried out a series of military actions in the department of San Martin. These actions included attacks on the towns of Tarapoto, Picota, Tabalosos and San Miguel del Río Mayo. In addition, the MRTA attacked the police posts of San Jose de Sisa and Bellavista. These attacks were part of an MRTA offensive before the Huallaga Front developed a systematic military offensive against this subversive organization starting in August 1992.
