Four authorities murdered in San Pedro
The Shining Path PCP assassinated four authorities in San Pedro, Canchis, and set fire to the municipality and destroyed two buses in May 1992.
In May 1992, the Shining Path PCP carried out an incursion in San Pedro, a district in the province of Canchis in Cusco. During this action, the subversive organization assassinated four local authorities. In addition to the murder of the authorities, the subversives set fire to the municipal building and destroyed two buses. This attack occurred in a context of declining subversive activity in the area, shortly before the capture of Abimael Guzman in September 1992.
