Approval of 28 projects in the extraordinary legislature

Congress approved 28 bills during an extraordinary self-convened legislature in February 1992, modifying or repealing legislative decrees of the Executive, especially on national pacification. Fujimori negatively qualified these results, evidencing the conflict between powers.

During an extraordinary legislature self-convened by the Congress, 28 bills were approved that modified or repealed legislative decrees previously issued by the Executive Branch. Among these bills were those related to national pacification, which were positively modified by the Parliament. President Alberto Fujimori Fujimori described the results of this extraordinary legislature as "negative for the country". This situation evidenced the growing confrontation between the Executive and the Congress that characterized the beginning of 1992.
