Fujimori's visit to Ecuador
President Alberto Fujimori Fujimori visited Ecuador in January 1992 to discuss binational integration issues with President Rodrigo Borja Cevallos. The visit was authorized by the Permanent Commission of Congress.
The Standing Committee of Congress authorized President Alberto Fujimori Fujimori's visit to Ecuador for talks with his counterpart, Rodrigo Borja Cevallos. The purpose of the visit was to discuss aspects that promote integration between both nations. This visit took place in a context of border tensions, since in October 1991 an incident had occurred due to the disappearance of milestone 1424 on the border with Ecuador, which revealed the carelessness with which the Executive had been treating foreign policy.
