Detention, torture and rape of three women in Chilca District

Three women were arbitrarily detained in 1992 in the department of Junín and subsequently victims of forced disappearance. Shortly after their disappearance, their bodies were found with signs of having been tortured. One of the victims was a woman four months pregnant, whose body was found 15 days after her disappearance, tortured and riddled with bullets. According to statements by a witness who was detained with them at the 9 de Diciembre Barracks, the women were subjected to acts of sexual violence that included rape and being forced to have sex with each other in front of the military. The soldiers mocked them while they were naked and forced them to fake masturbation by imitating pornographic material.
