Family estrangement in Yavirironi

In 1992, the rift between the Luzmila and AC families in Yavirironi worsened, due to the fact that the AC family formed self-defense groups with the support of the Army, generating internal tensions in the community.

By 1992, the rift between Luzmila's family and the AC family had worsened in the Yavirironi community. Conflicts intensified because the AC family quickly took up the Army's proposal to form Self-Defense Committees, forming the Yavirironi patrol. Soldiers from the Satipo base, under the command of Captain Carlos Méndez, would enter the community in the event of any suspicious act, including meetings to coordinate the construction of a health post and a school with FONCODES. Tensions between the two families had arisen since the end of 1989.
