Second shot of Juanjui
Second takeover of Juanjui by the MRTA on December 24, 1991, commanded by (c) Rolando and (c) Evaristo. The attack resulted in seven dead (six policemen and one civilian) and fifteen wounded, in addition to the burning of public buildings and looting.
On December 24, 1991, the MRTA carried out a second takeover of the town of Juanjui under the command of (c) Rolando, who had escaped from prison in July 1990, and (c) Evaristo. At five o'clock in the morning, the MRTA momentarily controlled Juanjui with the seizure of the police post and the recovery of weapons. During the attack, the premises of the National Police and the Parish House were set on fire, and the wholesale store 'Bruno Acosta' and the Amazon Bank were looted. The tragic result was six policemen dead, one civilian dead and fifteen wounded.
