PCP-SL assassinates Doraliza Espejo Márquez for collaborating in the distribution of Army food supplies
On December 5, 1991, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso assassinated Doraliza Espejo Márquez, a leader of the José Carlos Mariátegui Human Settlement in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho. She was murdered for having collaborated in a food distribution organized by the Army. This crime was part of the PCP-SL's strategy of eliminating social leaders who collaborated with the State or opposed its violent actions.
