Murder and mutilation of Cayo Silvestre Carhuancho
Cayo Silvestre Carhuancho tortured, decapitated and mutilated by the military in Aucayacu
On November 27, 1991, Cayo Silvestre Carhuancho was detained in Nuevo Copal by military personnel from the Aucayacu base. When family members arrived to ask for him they were denied detention and were threatened with death, finally they were 'suggested' to look in the body dumps near the Huallaga. Seven days later the body was found near Aucayacu, without head or hands and with signs of torture. He was recognized by a scar on his foot.
