Paramilitary killings in Carabayllo

Four people were murdered by paramilitary groups in Carabayllo in November 1991, as part of the escalation of violence in the Northern Zone of Lima. These murders were part of what was denounced as a "dirty war" transferred to the popular cones of the capital.

In November 1991, paramilitary groups carried out four murders in the district of Carabayllo, in the Northern Zone of Metropolitan Lima. These murders took place in a context of increasing political violence in the area, where subversive groups as well as law enforcement and paramilitary groups were operating simultaneously. The killings were part of what was denounced as the transfer of the 'dirty war' from the countryside to the city, particularly to the popular cones. These events occurred in the same period when military and police operations were being carried out in the area, and shortly before four other similar murders took place in Comas in February 1992.
