Lidia Lopez and her family kidnapped by Pitatos ronderos

Pitatos rangers kidnapped the leader Lidia Lopez and six family members, including several children, following orders from military chiefs. The incident was denounced as part of the human rights violations in the Central Jungle.

On October 28, 1991, the ronderos of the Pitatos community kidnapped leader Lidia López along with six other members of her family, including several children. According to newspaper reports at the time, the ronderos were acting on orders from military leaders. This kidnapping occurred in the context of multiple reports of human rights violations committed by the Army or the ronderos against the civilian population in the Central Jungle region. The case was reported by DESCO on November 28, 1991.
