Murder of Fortunato Collazos Crispín and Alfredo Aguirre Beraún
PCP-SL assassinates two leaders of the Juan Pablo II youth village during popular assembly
On September 14, 1991, while participating in a popular assembly, Fortunato Collazos Crispín, deputy secretary general, and Alfredo Aguirre Beraún, press and propaganda secretary of the Juan Pablo II youth village in the district of San Juan de Miraflores, were assassinated. The assassination was perpetrated by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso as part of their strategy to eliminate social leaders who opposed their project of violence.
