Disappearance and murder of Sara Luz Mozombite Quiñónez
Sara Luz Mozombite disappeared and killed by Aucayacu military, found mutilated and decapitated
On August 9, 1991, members of the counter-subversive base of Aucayacu detained Sara Luz Mozombite Quiñonez in Sangapilla. They accused her of being a 'tuca' and took her to the base. When family members went to the base, Lieutenant Gringo and Captain Lobo denied that she was there. A week later they were informed that she had already disappeared. Sara's body was found days later, mutilated and with her head severed, on the banks of the Río Negro.
