Massacre of the Solier Huallanca family
Four members of Solier family murdered, including witness in crime against journalist Morales Ortega
In the early morning of July 18, 1991, Professor Francisco Solier García (46 years old), his wife Celestina Huallanca Hinostroza (40 years old), his son Waldyn Solier Huallanca (14 years old) and his nephew Carlos José Rodríguez Cordero (18 years old) were murdered. All of them were shot and the killers used guns with silencers. Celestina had been an eyewitness to the murder of journalist Luis Morales Ortega five days earlier. Agent Carrión's diary describes this operation as an order from Lima with the instruction: 'Nobody is left alive'. A 9-year-old boy, Eduardo Solier Huallanca, survived undetected.
