Detention of farmers in Rodeo Pampa
Military detained Hilario family in Rodeo Pampa, burned houses and held naked detainees
An Army patrol under the command of Lieutenant Javier Bendezú Vargas arrived at the Rodeo Pampa annex and arrested the members of the Hilario family, accusing them of belonging to the subversion. They set fire to their homes to force them to leave, keeping them detained for the rest of the night totally naked despite the inclement weather. The soldiers remained in the village until after midday, slaughtering rams and killing chickens belonging to the Hilario family. The detainees were then taken to the Mysteriosa mine where they were to be executed.
