Intelligence report highlights efforts against drug trafficking and terrorism in Satipo

The military intelligence report from the Joint Command in Washington on May 24 noted that the Army commander on the Mantaro Front was determined to stop drug trafficking and reestablish government control in Satipo, where he had set up his headquarters. In the midst of great difficulties and facing serious shortages of resources, this officer had concentrated in Satipo a significant number of troops with which he was defeating terrorism and drug trafficking.
