Assault on Ollantaytambo police station

PCP-SL attack on the Ollantaytambo police post on May 4, 1991, resulting in the death of three policemen.

On May 4, 1991, a Shining Path detachment assaulted the Ollantaytambo police post. During the attack, three policemen guarding the facility were killed. This assault was part of a series of PCP-SL attacks against police posts and authorities in the Cuzco region during that period. The attack took place in a context of intensifying violence in the provinces of the department, where the PCP-SL maintained its operational capacity despite the growing rejection of the population.
