Detention and disappearance of Pedro Cajamarca Navarro
Pedro Cajamarca Navarro, a young man forcibly recruited by the Shining Path, was arrested by ronderos from Musoqpampa in Ccásir and handed over to the military at the Churcampa base, where he disappeared.
On April 19, 1991, ronderos from Musoqpampa, in the district of La Merced, entered the town of Ccásir and arrested Pedro Cajamarca Navarro, a young man who had been recruited against his will by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso. The ronderos handed him over to the military at the counter-subversive base in Churcampa. After being handed over to the military forces, Pedro Cajamarca Navarro disappeared. This case occurred in a context where the villagers, tired of the abuses and demands of the subversives, began to actively resist the PCP-SL in the area.
