Attack against Instituto Libertad y Democracia

Attack by the PCP-Sendero Luminoso against the premises of the Instituto Libertad y Democracia directed by Hernando de Soto, presidential advisor, in April 1991 in Lima.

In April 1991, the PCP-Sendero Luminoso carried out an attack against the premises of the Instituto Libertad y Democracia, directed by Hernando de Soto, who at the time was an advisor to President Alberto Fujimori. This attack was part of a reactivation of subversive actions in the capital during Fujimori's new government. The attack took place in the context of an escalation of violence that included blowing up electrical towers and attacks on bank branches in Lima.
