The political party Cambio 90 expelled five militants from its parliamentary group and political grouping: Juana Avellaneda Soto, Irma Bustamante Morales, Gerardo López Quiroz, Mario Soto Godoy and Guillermo Yoshikawa Torres. This expulsion took place in a context of political tensions during the first year of Alberto Fujimori's government. The event reflects the internal divisions within the pro-government movement Cambio 90. The measure affected both the parliamentary representation and the party militancy of those expelled.
