State reform decrees
In March 1991, the Peruvian government issued supreme decrees with the first 14 state reform measures, including the sale of shares in public enterprises, tariff reductions and the elimination of labor stability. These structural reforms continued in the following months as part of the country's economic restructuring.
The government publishes supreme decrees with the first 14 measures to reform the Peruvian State and foreign trade. These measures included provisions referring to the sale of shares in public companies, the lowering of tariffs and the practical elimination of labor stability. The reforms were part of a process of economic and administrative restructuring of the Peruvian State implemented by the government of Alberto Fujimori. Subsequently, in April, the government continued to decree measures linked to the so-called structural reform, including the end of the monopoly of state-owned enterprises, liberalization of trade with foreign currency and reform of the agrarian reform.
