Reorganization of SUNAD

In March 1991, the Peruvian government declared a 180-day reorganization of the National Customs Superintendency (SUNAD), as part of the structural reforms of the State implemented during the government of Alberto Fujimori.

The Peruvian government declared the Superintendencia Nacional de Aduanas (SUNAD) under reorganization for a period of 180 days. This measure was part of a set of structural reforms implemented by the government of Alberto Fujimori during 1991. The reorganization of SUNAD was part of the broader process of reforming the Peruvian State, which included the restructuring of several public entities. This decision was made by supreme decree in the context of the policies of economic liberalization and modernization of the state apparatus that characterized the first year of the Fujimori government.
