GEIN raids house in San Borja and seizes PCP-SL archives

The GEIN raided a house in San Borja on January 31, 1991, seizing the general archive of the PCP-SL, including videos of its leadership. This operation represented an important step forward in the Peruvian State's counter-subversive struggle.

On January 31, 1991, the Special Intelligence Group (GEIN) raided a house in the district of San Borja, Lima, seizing the general archive of the Communist Party of Peru - Shining Path (PCP-SL). In this operation they found the famous videos of the PCP-SL leadership dancing 'Zorba, the Greek'. This discovery represented a significant blow to the intelligence structure of the subversive organization. Later, in February, President Alberto Fujimori showed fragments of these videos in a message to the nation, stating that it was a product of the new anti-subversive policy and that the National Intelligence Services, in coordination with the Armed and Police Forces, would succeed in capturing terrorist leaders.
