200 disappearances reported in Huancavelica

The president of the Justice and Human Rights Commission of Congress, Senator Raúl Ferrero Costa, denounced that approximately 200 people had disappeared in Huancavelica during the first five months of Fujimori's government.

Senator Raúl Ferrero Costa, president of the Justice and Human Rights Commission, publicly revealed that during the first five months of Alberto Fujimori's government, around 200 people had disappeared in the department of Huancavelica. This denunciation took place in a context of growing concern about the government's respect for human rights. The announcement was made before the Congress of the Republic and was part of the investigations of the parliamentary commission on human rights violations. This revelation was in addition to other serious cases such as the discovery of the Chillccahuico mass grave and the discovery of a clandestine cemetery used by PNP groups.
