On January 3, 1991, the only PCP-SL incursion into the community of Cushiviani took place. This event occurred in a context of internal tensions that had arisen since late 1989 between Luzmila and AC, and between their respective families. Conflicts worsened because the CA family quickly took up the Army's proposal to form Self-Defense Committees, forming the Yavirironi round. By 1992, the rift between the two families had become even more acute.
