Barrios Altos Massacre
Barrios Altos Massacre, a case in which the unconstitutionality of the Amnesty Law was questioned.
Dr. Antonia Saquicuray heard the Barrios Altos case and supported the unconstitutionality of the Amnesty Law. This case was one of the few in which the impunity established by the amnesty laws was challenged. The Barrios Altos massacre was perpetrated by the death squad called 'Colina'. The case demonstrated that it was possible to legally challenge the impunity granted to human rights violators.
