Attack on Querobamba police post

Shining Path attack on the Querobamba police post in January 1991 that lasted almost four hours, leaving the post completely demolished and resulting in two deaths (one policeman and one subversive).

In January 1991, members of the PCP-SL attacked for almost four hours the police post of Querobamba, which was completely demolished. This attack was organized by three groups: the first went directly to the police post where there were only four members, the second prevented the villagers from fleeing the town, and the third was in charge of looting the stores. The attack resulted in two deaths: a policeman and a subversive. At the end of 1987, a police post had been installed in Querobamba, provincial capital of Sucre.
