MRTA work continues until threats
The work of the Regional Directorate of the MRTA in Ucayali continued until 1991, when it stopped due to the constant threats that its members received from the Navy, which had assumed total control of the Political-Military Command.
The Regional Directorate (DR) of the Eastern Front of the MRTA continued its operations in Ucayali during 1991, although with limited political and military relevance after the events of February 9, 1989, which disarticulated the peasant, popular and political movements in the region. The organization's work remained active until 1991, when it was forced to stop due to the constant threats received by its members. These threats came specifically from the Navy, which in 1991 took over full command of the Political-Military Command of Ucayali, intensifying the repression against MRTA in the area.
