Formation of armed detachments of MRTA in Pariahuanca and Santo Domingo de Acobamba.
In mid-1991, the MRTA formed armed detachments in Pariahuanca and Santo Domingo de Acobamba that operated until 1993. This reorganization followed the defeats suffered by the MRTA in the Mantaro Valley.
In mid-1991, the MRTA subversives managed to form some armed detachments in the towns of Pariahuanca and Santo Domingo de Acobamba. These detachments operated in the area until 1993. This formation of detachments occurred after the MRTA suffered important defeats in the Mantaro valley, particularly after the confrontation in Pampa Puyhuan. The withdrawal to the province of Chanchamayo allowed the MRTA to rebuild its ranks and survive until 1998, developing constant confrontations with military patrols. Gradually, the Army decimated these detachments and reduced the space where they operated until they almost completely disappeared.
